The first three minutes of Fear the Walking Dead have been released by AMC, giving fans a look at the beginning of the end of the world.

The clip moves the series further on than previous teasers, showing former Harry Potter star Frank Dillane witnessing his girlfriend Gloria getting her teeth into an undead.

Fear the Walking Dead is set at the very start of the zombie invasion, while Rick Grimes was still in a coma at the beginning of The Walking Dead.

The spin-off series centres on the Clark family, featuring House of Cards actress Kim Dickens who plays school counsellor Madison.

Through the Clarks we see the city decaying from the inside as the undead begin to take over.

Earlier this week, AMC shared a video of executive producer Robert Kirkman promising “zombies unlike we've ever seen before” in the spin-off show.

Viewers in the UK will be able to watch the series on a new AMC channel available to BT customers.

US fans will be able to watch the series when it debuts at 9pm on Sunday 23 August on AMC.

The Walking Dead will return a week after Fear the Walking Dead ends on 4 October.
