Game of Thrones season 6 - Is The Hound still alive? Rory McCann spotted at filming location
He was absent for the whole of season 5
Sandor Clegane aka The Hound appeared to die an unceremonious death on the side of a hill in Game of Thrones season 4, wounded following a duel with Brienne of Tarth.
Arya Stark may have refused to help him nor put him out of his misery, and in the barren landscape there was no medical aide around, but we never actually saw him pass away.
It’s interesting then, that actor Rory McCann was spotted at a hotel in Belfast often used by HBO and Game of Thrones cast members during filming this week, according to Watchers on the Wall.
McCann doesn’t appear to have any other projects lined up right now, and there’s no obvious reason for him to be in Belfast (the show’s base) outside of Game of Thrones business.
Maybe he’s filming a funeral scene (though he ‘died’ in the middle of nowhere and had no real allies left), maybe he’s just visiting the cast, or maybe he’s back to eat more “f*cking chickens”!
"Go in peace, Sandor Clegane. The Lord of Light isn't done with you yet." - Beric Dondarrion
While we’re on the subject of returning cast members, Natalie Tena (Osha) and Art Parkinson (Rickon) have also been spotted in Belfast:
And Kit Harrington is still there too:
That funeral scene of his sure is taking a long time to film…
Game of Thrones season 6 is expected to arrive in April 2016
