Game of Thrones season 8: Fan favourite's fate likely confirmed as production begins
**Potential spoilers below**

Game of Thrones seventh season left on quite the cliffhanger, the Wall finally crumbling as the Night’s King charged onto Westeros.
Notably, the fate of both Tormund and Beric was left unresolved. Could the showrunners have killed off two huge characters off-screen?
As suspected by many, Tormund will likely return, actor Kristofer Hivju having been spotted on location in Belfast alongside Dolorous Edd actor Ben Crompton.
Variety picked up on the story, detailing how fans have spotted numerous principle actors in Ireland, including Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke,Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. Apart from Hivju being spotted, little other new information has come available.
According to Ian Glenn, who plays Ser Jorah Mormont on the acclaimed HBO show, there have already been script read throughs for the upcoming season, which will only consist of six episodes.
Meanwhile, Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos) has also revealed that scripts are being treated “like grenades”, safely locked away, the showrunners even preventing the cast members from having their own versions.
Game of Thrones season 8 has yet to be given a release date, but new production details suggest it won't be until 2019.
