Gogglebox star Sophie Sandiford is receiving support after sharing some personal news in the latest episode.

On Friday night’s instalment of the entertainment series (12 March), Sandiford revealed that she was training to be a florist.

The news comes months after the TV personality broke down in tears after realising her job would be affected by the pandemic in November.

Sandiford discovered she would probably lose employment as a Debenhams window dresser while watching a news broadcast announcing the closure of non-essential businesses.

“It’s just sad, isn’t it?” she told her brother Pete in the episode. “It’s just s*** for everybody. It’s going to get even worse; more people are going to lose their jobs and things like that. It’s just awful."

Gogglebox fans, who were concerned by her tears, were reassured to hear Sandiford’s news and sent their support on social media.

When viewers sent their love to Sandiford back in November, she wrote: “Thank you so much for all the lovely messages tonight... it’s a tough time for everyone, but we’ve all just got to hang in there. Sending love to everyone, better days are coming.”

Gogglebox continues Fridays on Channel 4.
