I'm A Celebrity South Africa Showcases 'Most Disgusting Trial Ever'

Viewers of I’m a Celebrity... South Africa have lamented a frustrating cliffhanger at the end of Thursday’s (11 May) semi-final.

The all-star version of the popular ITV reality series comes to an end with a grand final on Friday (12 May), with Fatima Whitbread, Jordan Banjo, Myleene Klass and Phil Tufnell still competing for the title of “King or Queen of the Jungle”.

However, the penultimate episode featured a new twist, as the celebrities who exited the series earlier in its run (including Andy Whyment, Janice Dickinson, Amir Khan, Georgia “Toff” Toffolo and Joe Swash) were brought back to the jungle and told to pick which contestant would be kicked out, whittling the four remaining contestants down to a “final three”.

At the end of the episode, they selected an unlucky victim. However, before the result was revealed, the end credits started to roll – meaning fans will have to tune into the final to find out who made it out of the semi.

Fans bemoaned the moment on social media, with one person describing the moment as “pointless”.

“Pointless leaving it on a cliffhanger. Tomorrow is the final so three will be gone and one will be crowned anyway,” one person wrote.

“Absolute b*****ds!! F***ing hate a cliffhanger but i f***ing love it too!! F*** sake!” wrote another impassioned viewer.

“Not them leaving it on a cliffhanger so we don’t know who the final 3 are until the final,” someone else grumbled.

Unlike the regular series of I’m a Celeb, the South Africa edition was filmed in its entirety last year, months before airing.

The grand final of I’m a Celebrity... South Africa airs at 9pm on Friday 12 May on ITV1.
