The Jump 2017 claims first casualty as Vogue Williams forced to quit

Its status as the most dangerous show on TV is cemented

Since it began in 2014, The Jump has made a name for itself as one of the most dangerous reality shows in TV history. Furthering this somewhat is the news that a contestant from the new series, scheduled to begin this Sunday (5 February), has already been forced to drop out due to injury.

Model Vogue Williams suffered a knee injury while ski cross training. After being examined by medics, she was ruled unfit for the Channel 4 series.

Williams will be replaced by model and actor Amy Willerton.

Other contestants taking to the slopes include Sir Bradley Wiggins, who announced his retirement from cycling last year, as well as fellow gold medallists Jade Jones MBE (Taekwondo) and Kadeena Cox MBE who won for both sprinting and cycling at the 2016 Paralympics.

Former rugby players Gareth Thomas and Jason Robinson OBE also appear on the line-up as does former Premier League footballer Robbie Fowler and gymnast Louis Smith who has a Strictly Come Dancing win to his name.

Last year saw numerous contestants seriously injure themselves throughout the course of the series with Beth Tweddle, Rebecca Adlington and Tina Hobley all being hospitalised.

The Jump is hosted by Davina McCall and begins this Sunday 5 February on Channel 4.
