Kenan and Kel reunion on the cards as Kel says 'That'd be cool, man'

Kenan and Kel were a staple of many Nineties childhoods (Nickelodeon)

Nineties kids among you, we know that there can be little you want more than a Kenan and Kel reunion.

It's orange sodas at the ready as Kel himself has shared his eagerness to make another series of the Nickelodeon classic which sadly came to an end in 2001.

Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell are now well into their thirties, which surely might put them off? No chance.

"I think that would be awesome," Kel told Digital Spy at Comic-Con. "That'd be cool man. You just gotta get Kenan into it, see if he'd be into it. That'd be a lot of fun."

Kenan, there's a lot of fans waiting on you to sign up for this one pal, so maybe it's time to step away from Saturday Night Live and return to the open arms of your old show.

We're trying not to get our hopes up, however, after Kel said in 2012 that his former best bud "does not want to be seen with [him] in any form of media or even have [his] name mentioned around him". Ouch.

Kel, meanwhile, will be back on Nickelodeon soon, playing hip-hop mogul Double G in new comedy Game Shakers. The character will be a "comedic version of artists like Kanye, Diddy, Eminem and 50 Cent", apparently.

Aw, here it goes!
