Love Island's Wes wants to win Megan back and she says she is still interested

Another day, another hour of people moving from the fire pit to the pool to the bedroom to the swing and round again, and challenging the term 'homo sapiens' origins as "wise human" in Latin.

Wednesday night's episode continued the fallout from Josh's pivot from Georgia to Kaz, Georgia calming down a little and making peace with the new girl, after initially repeatedly and disingenuously calling her "Kez".

Adam semi-dumped Darylle meanwhile, admitting that he'd been distance since returning to the villa as he'd started pining for evicted contestant Zara.

The third narrative strand belonged to Wes, who resolved to graft on New Ellie and try and win back Megan (with help from Alex aka "Doctor Decoy"), much to new boy Alex's annoyance.

Read back the episode as it happened in the live blog below.

On Tuesday night's episode: After Monday's truly explosive episode, tonight's instalment tied up some very loose ends. ITV2 delayed the episode for England v Colombia first by 30 minutes, then upped it to an hour, infuriating fans across social media.

But the show must go on, and go on it did. After a rocky week everybody's favourites Jack and Dani declared their undying love for each other, but only after a painfully awkward date between Dani and 'the-ex', Ellie, and a blazing row on the decking.

Georgia and Josh didn't have quite such a pleasant time, making it crystal clear they were well and truly done. Their tense confrontation led to a rather dour end to the episode, with Georgia left in floods of tears.

After watching England in a World Cup penalty shoot out, tension in the nation was already running high, and this episode only added to it. With tears, shouting and lots of Bucks Fizz, here's everything that went on in the villa.

Last night, Russell Brand reflected on the England game and Love Island for us...

Just finished reviewing this week's The Handmaid's Tale, a show in which women are forbidden from reading, and now ready for Love Island, a shown in which women choose not to. Let's do this!

The show always begins with a TL;DR, or rather a TL;DW, an apparently tonight we'll see Alex and Wes vie for Megan and pull the classic 'call your ex's new lover by the wrong name' move.

I love Adam's pep talks. "At the end of the like, the fire pit's right there so of course you're gonna fookin' throw someone in it. You've done nowt wrong mate."

So Georgia's gone for Shakespere-level sadness and fury in response to being spurned, while Wes is in the dressing room getting his suit or armour and jousting lance.

Pretty uneventful first 15. I'm excited to see Alex try and communicate with his potential new lady though (I can't remember her name and I'm pretty sure he can't either).

By this point Alex should consider recoupling with a pot plant.

So a couple of years ago I sold use of a song I wrote to Made in Chelsea, which they used a soundtrack to someone's break-up. It wasn't my proudest moment but hey, it could have been used to score people just being asleep with their mouths hanging over on Love Island.
