Armando Iannucci has 'good news' for people craving Malcolm Tucker on Brexit

And so is Alan Partridge

The Brexit negotiations might best be described with The Thick of It's term "omnishambles", and the whole issue is so ripe for satire that many are wishing Armando Iannucci's show were still around to cover it - particularly his bilious PR advisor Malcom Tucker.

Well, "I have good news later for those asking for Malcolm Tucker on Brexit...." Iannucci cryptically tweeted, later adding: "I have good news later for those asking for Alan Partridge on Brexit."

It remains to be seen what exactly the Veep creator is teasing here - though many will be hoping for a new The Thick of It series or In The Loop-esque film spin-off, some sort of sketch involving Tucker and Partridge is perhaps more likely.

Iannucci will soon release The Death of Stalin, a comedy-drama starring Jeffrey Tambor and Steve Buscemi which he wrote and directed and which chronicles the Soviet power struggles caused by the death of Joseph Stalin in 1953.

We'll update this post as soon as we hear more.

Update: As above, Iannucci has revealed this a written Brexit debate between Tucker and Partridge, to be published in the Big Issue.
