Who is Frog on The Masked Singer? Viewers think they know identity of mystery star
Surreal reality series will unveil remaining celebrities in a matter of weeks
The Masked Singer viewers in the US are convinced they know the identity of one of this year’s mystery celebrity contestants.
The surreal reality series sees a panel of judges attempt to guess the identities of singing famous people dressed in elaborate costumes.
In last night’s episode (29 April), the Frog, who has been one of this year’s most entertaining performers, sailed through to the final stages of the competition following their latest performance.
The judging panel, which is comprised of Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke, were all in approval.
Following the episode, fans of the show claimed they officially knew who is under the mask – rapper Bow Wow.
Gold Derby has pointed out that the clues match up: the phrases “Face Off”, “Prince” and “Fame” have all been used by The Frog, which could link to Omarion collaboration “Face Off”, the song Prince of Darkness” and his 2006 record The Price of Fame.
There also seems to be a reference to the BET music show Bow Wow hosted in 2012, called 106 and Park.
The latest celebrity to be unveiled was US singer-songwriter Hunter Hayes.
Earlier this season, Sarah Palin was unmasked after rapping Sir Mix-a-Lot’s “Baby Got Back”, which led to host Nick Cannon stating: “This might be the most shocked I’ve ever been on this show.”
