From The Missing to The Art That Hitler Hated: What to watch on TV tonight
Life is Toff and Autumnwatch are among our picks for Tuesday 28 October
The Missing, 9pm, BBC1
In a taut new drama with clear but not clanging echoes of the Madeleine McCann case, James Nesbitt (left) and Frances O'Connor (both excellent) play the distraught parents of a five-year-old boy who vanishes while on holiday in France, and the main story is set eight years after the vanishing, when the fallout has driven the couple apart.
Imagine... The Art That Hitler Hated, 10.35pm, BBC1
When police raided the Munich flat of an elderly recluse, Cornelius Gurlitt, in March 2012, they stumbled on more than 1,000 paintings by the likes of Matisse, Monet and Picasso that hadn't been seen since the Nazi era.
Gurlitt turned out to be the son of the art dealer of choice to the Third Reich, and this two-part start to a new series of Alan Yentob-fronted films looks at the thorny subject of Nazi-looted art.
Autumnwatch 2014, 8pm, BBC2
It’s that time of year again. Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan are on the Lancashire coast.
The Flash, 8pm, Sky1
A light-hearted spinoff of The Arrow finds CSI nerd Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) imbued with superhuman speed after being struck by a bolt of lightning. Fun.
Life Is Toff, 10pm & 12.30am, BBC3
The sweary aristo stars of Channel 4's The F***ing Fulfords return a decade on to entertain BBC3 viewers. "We peaked in about 1530," boasts the paterfamilias, Francis, as he attempts to interest the younger generation in taking over the working of the Devon pile. He said it.
