Long distance relationships have evolved a lot in recent history; instead of receiving the occasional letter, lovers are constantly able to communicate through phone calls, text, email, Skype, instant messaging and social media, to name just a few.

Now you can add watching Netflix together to that “things we can do together while counting down the minutes until we’re back together” list.

Traditionally a struggle due to buffering times and having to press play at exactly the same time, there’s a Chrome extension called Netflix Party that lets you simultaneously watch the streaming service, while also offering in-app chat.

If you don’t have a partner miles away but want to watch with friends or family, there’s also the option of inviting numerous people to the group. Grab it here.

Now that’s sorted, you just need to choose what to watch. In other Netflix-related news, the streaming service recently revealed which programmes are most likely to be binge watched.
