If you thought we'd seen the last of the nightmare that is Dirty Grandpa; your naivety is admirable. Unfortunately, the world is a harsh, uncaring place where people watch a film in which Robert de Niro screams for two hours about wanting to "f*ck, f*ck, f*ck, f*ck" and think, hey, this concept really needs to be taken to the world of reality television.

Yes, Digital Spy reports MTV has commissioned a new show entitled Spring Break with Grandad, in which eight twenty-somethings will be accompanied to Cancun by their patriarchal elder. Cue four weeks of debauchery in a luxury villa, and also some elderly men. For what? A rampaging youth burning half a beach down while his Grandpappy watches on in remorse, tears slowly welling in his eyes as he wonders what has become of the generation he'll be leaving the world's fortunes to? Or maybe this show is hoping they'll join in?

Handsome Productions plans to air the series across MTV's international channels from June 2016. "Spring Break with Grandad is the perfect fit for MTV," stated Senior Vice President of Youth and Music at Viacom International Media Networks, Kerry Taylor. "We know our audience loves the romance and the drama our reality franchises serve up, and now we're adding a hilarious new element into the mix."

"Grandparents are the best, and we can't wait to see what they'll get up to in Cancun." Let's hope that hope resolves itself in an international heist, as the theft of several millions in precious diamonds is likely the only thing that would make this show bearable.

"This series is going to be high in comedy entertainment. Throwing their grandparents into Spring Break is, for some kids, the ultimate nightmare," Executive Producer at Handsome Productions, Nichola Hegarty, promises otherwise. "We're definitely in for some jaw-dropping moments! It's their job to find likely romances for their grandkids and this might not always go according to plan!"

Spring Break with Grandad is currently casting in both the UK and the US.
