Formerly known as the SAG Awards, The Actor Awards honor performances in film and TV productions

Nominations for the 2026 Actor Awards, formerly known as the SAG Awards, have been announced.

Abbott Elementary star Janelle James and Heated Rivalry breakout actor Connor Storrie appeared together Wednesday to read out the nominations, presented by actors union SAG-AFTRA, on Netflix’s YouTube channel. The pair kicked off the 15-minute livestream by poking fun at the award show for changing its name after 30 years — which guild leaders explained was to make the purpose of the awards clearer to its global audience— and then got right down to rattling off the nominations.

With six movie categories and nine TV categories up for grabs, the 32nd Actor Award winners will be announced in a Los Angeles ceremony that will be livestreamed on Netflix March 1. Harrison Ford is set to receive the SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award during the prestigious ceremony.

One Battle After Another leads this year’s nominations with seven nods, one in every motion picture category, with Sinners following closely behind with five. Another contender for this year’s film awards is Josh Safdie’s ping pong hit Marty Supreme. Timothée Chalamet’s electric performance in the movie earned him a Best Actor nomination, meaning he could take it home for the second year in a row after last year’s win for playing Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown.

But the film nominations also had some surprising snubs. While Ariana Grande was nominated for her supporting role in Wicked: For Good, Cynthia Erivo was left out for her performance as the musical’s lead character Elphaba Thropp. Dwayne Johnson was not recognized for starring in The Smashing Machine, and neither George Clooney nor Adam Sandler landed a nom for their work in Jay Kelly. Plus, no performances in foreign films were nominated at all — meaning Norwegian family drama Sentimental Value and Brazilian thriller The Secret Agent were forgotten by the guild this year, even though Wagner Moura won the best actor honors at Cannes for the latter.

In the TV categories, Hollywood comedy The Studio scored the most nominations with five, while Netflix’s creepy crime drama Adolescence and Mike White’s popularThe White Lotus each earned four.
