Sarah Paulson dodges question about Lea Michele

Sarah Paulson dodged a question about Lea Michele’s on-set behaviour after the topic was broached on Andy Cohen’s show.

Cohen interviewed Paulson, as well as The Real Housewives of New York City‘s Sonja Morgan, on a recent instalment of Watch Happens Live.

Reading a viewer’s question out loud, Cohen asked Paulson: “Since you and Lea Michele are two of Ryan Murphy’s muses, what do you make of the recent news about her on-set behaviour?”

Paulson has starred in Murphy’s American Horror Story and Feud. Michele was featured prominently in Glee and Scream Queens.

After Cohen’s question, Paulson smiled silently for a few moments before apparently feigning an Internet connection issue.

“I’m having a weird connection. I can’t really hear you,” she said, eliciting laughs from Cohen.

Morgan joked about being able to plead the Fifth on the show – a reference to the Fifth Amendment of the US Constitution, which protects people against self-incrimination and is often referenced colloquially by people who feel answering a given question might get them in trouble.

Michele has faced a range of accusations from former co-stars in recent weeks, including allegations of “traumatic microaggressions”, unpleasantness, and disrespect.

She addressed the allegations in an Instagram post back in June, writing in part: “I listened to these criticisms and I am learning and while I am very sorry, I will be better in the future from this experience.”

The Independent has contacted Michele’s representatives for further comment.
