With only a couple of weeks to go before the release of the Sherlock special, the BBC have released yet another trailer for the forthcoming episode.

In the latest clip we get a first look at the titular ‘Abominable Bride’, with her presented as a shotgun wielding woman with a veil over her face.

“The stage is set, the curtain rises, we are ready to begin. The avenging ghost,” says Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock as the 40 second begins. Watch below.

The Victorian themed episode features many of the shows actors return, including Martin Freeman who plays accomplice Dr. Watson.

According to writer Mark Gatiss "there's a fair chance" you'll see the character Mycroft in the special, yet little else is known about it.

The only real pieces of information we have are littered throughout the trailers, which all have quite a dark tone to them.

Sherlock: The Abominable Bride airs New Year’s Day at 9pm on BBC1.
