Throughout Doctor Who, there have been a number of hidden easter eggs, but none have been quite as peculiar as this one.

In the background of one of the shots in "Face the Raven", there’s a strange looking box in the background.

On it is a bizarre language, not from the Doctor Who universe but another mega sci-fi franchise: Star Wars. See the shot below.

The language is, of course, Aurebesh, the standard language in the Star Wars, and when written looks like some sort of ancient hieroglyphics.

So what does it spell? One eagle-eyed fan who spotted the easter egg translated the word and it spells DeLorean.

Not only did the show creators link to Star Wars, they then used an obscure language to link to Back to the Future.

**Spoiler for Doctor Who episode Face the Raven ahead** In the same episode, the Doctor’s companion, Clara, met an untimely end, leading fans to wonder who will take Jenna Coleman’s place.

Peter Capaldi has already hinted that Maisie Williams, of Game of Thrones fame, may take the coveted role, having already appeared on the show as Ashildr.
