Stranger Things: Duffer Brothers want to see series become 'like Harry Potter'

'I love watching kids growing up on camera'

Netflix’s latest original series, Stranger Things, has taken the world by storm, quickly becoming one of the streaming service’s most popular shows.

The sci-fi series, set in 1980s Indiana and creator by The Duffer Brothers, features numerous child characters, including Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), and Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair).

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, one of the directorial brothers, Matt Duffer, spoke about how he wants the series to become “a Harry Potter situation.”

"I love watching kids growing up on camera,” he told the publication. “So the idea seeing where these kids and these characters are one year later is cool to me. And it allows us to explore the mythology of our nether.”

Stranger Things - which came out in July - has yet to be officially commissioned for a second series but the creators and Netflix bosses have spoken candidly about bringing back the show.

Meanwhile, the soundtrack for the show, by the band S U R V I V E has finally been given an official release date.
