The X Factor 2015 is finally coming to an end, with Saturday night’s final seeing Che Chesterman exiting while Louisa Johnson and Reggie 'N' Bollie stay in to battle it out for the much covetted Syco record deal.

This series of the singing competition has been plagued with ‘technical difficulties’ – including Olly Murs announcing the contestant exiting earlier than he should have and Rita Ora forgetting one of her contestants – with the final being no different.

While footage of the contestants' performances was broadcast to the world, the audio feed cut out, leaving just the noise of the judges squabbling and the audience chatting.

Caroline Flack quickly apologised and moved the show on, yet nothing else showed on screens and the hosts once again had to quickly correct things. Watch 20 seconds of the incident below.

In the seconds after that clip, the hosts manage to move things on to the next performers, all while the judges look at each other incredibly confused and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini bears a big grin.

It was previously rumoured that, since ITV’s aquisition of The Voice, the X Factor may be finally put to rest.

However, when announcing they had purchased the rights to the BBC flagship show, an ITV spokesperson confirmed it would be joining The X Factor on its schedule.

So, unfortunately, the show will not be put down just yet.
