Twin Peaks: The Return was an astounding work of surrealist art, David Lynch’s 18 episode epic keeping watchers enthralled and setting internet forums alight.

While some fans are still recovering from the 2017 series, others are hoping the auteur will return with more episodes once again.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reported, Lynch was relatively closed when discussing exact details, deciding instead to keep an aura of mystery.

Questioned about whether the series ending is a cliffhanger or posing a philosophical question, he answered: “I don't really say things like that. But you know, I always say that there should be some room to dream.”

Then asked about wanted to return to the world of Twin Peaks, Lynch said: “I don't know. It's too early to say that right now.”

However, when pushed on whether another series was out of the question, Lynch gave an aged old answer: “I've learned never say never.”

At least we know another series of Twin Peaks could happen one day. Fingers crossed.
