WandaVision: Paul Bettany teases secret cast addition who will ‘surprise everybody’
Actor revealed he had wanted to work with the mystery cast addition ‘forever’
Paul Bettany has teased a mystery cast addition to the forthcoming Disney+ series WandaVision.
Marvel’s first show – which debuts on 15 January – is one of the studio’s most highly anticipated releases this year, with early reviews calling it “weird as hell, in a good way”.
WandaVision sees Bettany reprise his role as superhero Vision opposite Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch, aka Wanda Maximoff.
The show’s cast has mostly already been announced, with a number of Marvel favourites returning to the screen. In a new interview, however, Bettany revealed that there is one actor who is yet to be unveiled as part of the series’ line-up.
Bettany told Black Girl Nerds: “I get to work with an actor that’s going to be a surprise for everybody.”
The 49-year-old did not give any names, but stated: “I’ve been wanting to work with [this actor] forever who is just unbelievable and we have some real fireworks together.”
In a previous interview, Bettany said that House star Hugh Laurie and Malcolm in the Middle’s Bryan Cranston influenced his performance in the forthcoming show.
The nine-episode series stars Kathryn Hahn as nosy neighbour Agnes, and Teyonah Parris as a grown-up Monica Rambeau. Meanwhile, Kat Dennings and Randall Park will reprise their roles as Darcy Lewis and FBI Agent Jimmy Woo respectively.
WandaVision is scheduled for a multi-episode release on Disney+ on 15 January.
