Simon Cowell hoped introducing judges Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw to The X Factor would revitalise the show, yet the opposite came true.
Many presume, now that ITV have attained the rights to The Voice, the show will be dropped very soon because of low ratings: last weekend’s results show had less viewers than Antiques Roadshow.
While you may suspect the producers would be urging the judges to up their game, pop-singer Rita Ora is obviously ignoring the advice, making a hugely awkward blunder on Saturday night’s show.
When asked by host Caroline Flack to intoroduce the next performer, Rita started confidently, saying: Coming up next we have someone who is amazing, and it’s my girl… It’s my girl…”
After stumbling for a second on the live broadcast, Cowell is heard saying: "Who is it? You’ve forgotten, haven’t you?” She then quickly looks down to her notes hoping to find an answer, which she eventually comes to: “I’m joking, it’s Monica [Michael]”

In other X Factor news, after the BBC dropped the right to The Voice, with ITV picking them up, many think Cowell’s singing contest will be abandoned by the channel.
