Looking for social media scrapes, media industry minefields and dating dramas to navigate? Then fear not, the staff of Scarlet magazine will soon be back on screens, delivering just that. After a successful series one, The Bold Type is returning to Amazon Prime for 10 more episodes. But what can you expect from the new series and is our favourite girl gang still as close-knit as ever? Here’s everything you need to know.

What happened in series one?

Series one introduced us to Kat, Sutton and Jane, close pals who work at Scarlet magazine. It tackled professional jealousy, office affairs and Twitter trolls. Sutton struggled to keep her relationship with Scarlet lawyer Richard a secret, Jane fought to get recognition for her writing but hit a roadblock in the form of a defamation case, and Kat juggled managing the magazine’s social media platforms and an on-off relationship with girlfriend Adena.

What can we expect from new episodes?

Producers have understandably been trying to keep season two's secrets under wraps, but a few juicy details have slipped out nonetheless. In an interview with TV Line, series creator Sarah Watson hinted we’re going to be seeing more from the main characters’ love interests and manager Jacqueline.

Meanwhile, the trailer for the new series confirmed that despite chasing on-off girlfriend Adena to South America, Kat hasn’t quit her job at Scarlet, yet. As for Jane, her new role at start-up Incite isn’t going quite the way she planned. And Sutton looks to have rekindled things with Richard after the pair slunk off together in the finale. But just what went down in that elevator and will they finally come clean about the nature of their relationship at work? You’ll have to tune in to find out.

Who’s in the cast?

Thankfully most of our season one faves will be making an appearance in the new episodes, including, of course, our three heroines. Katie Stevens will be back as recent Scarlet departee Jane, Aisha Dee is reprising her role as social media editor Kat, and Meghann Fahy will be returning as assistant Sutton.

Other familiar faces include Sam Page as Scarlet lawyer and Sutton’s love interest Richard, Melora Hardin as Jacqueline, the publication’s editor-in-chief, and Nikohl Boosheri as Adena.

How can I watch it?

You can catch all of series one on Amazon Prime now, and new series two episodes will be airing on the channel weekly.

When’s it out?

Those desperate for their latest dispatch from the Bold girls don’t have long to wait. Series two premieres on Wednesday, 13 June on Amazon Prime Video.
