Only The Young were voted out of last night’s X Factor, after scoring the lowest number of public votes in a double elimination weekend.

The foursome - Mikey Bromley, 19, Charlie George, 17, Parisa Tarhomani, 20, and Betsy-Blue English, 18 - sang their own rendition of Elton John’s “The Way You Look Tonight”.

Mentored by Louis Walsh, the group has previously described themselves as a modern day Von Trapp family.

The band were eliminated despite Stevi Ritchie being named as the bookies favourite to be voted out. The act with the lowest amount of public votes were asked to leave the show.

"They just need a recording deal and they'll become a massive pop group," said Walsh, who now has one act left - eight-piece boyband Stereo Kicks.

Six acts remain in the show, with just four weeks to go until the final.

"This is not the end of Only The Young," said the group.

"We've had the best time of our lives. We gave it our best every single week."
