Win tickets to Soldiers and Suffragettes: The Photography of Christina Broom and a preview screening of acclaimed new film Suffragette

6pm, Friday 9 October 2015

Friday 11 September 2015 15:28 BST

The Museum of London Docklands is giving away forty pairs of tickets to attend a private, after-hours view of its latest exhibition, Soldiers and Suffragettes: The Photography of Christina Broom, followed by a preview screening of new movie, Suffragette, at the Everyman Canary Wharf on Friday 9 October 2015.

Starting the evening at 6pm at the Museum of London Docklands, winners will enjoy a complementary glass of wine as you mingle with curator Anna Sparham and leading Suffragette expert and film advisor, Beverley Cook. In the exhibition winners will get to view original prints – many never seen before on public display – by Christina Broom, the UK’s first female press photographer, who captured thousands of images of London at the start of the 20th century, including many high-profile Suffragette events.

Winners will then head to the nearby Everyman Canary Wharf for an advance screening at 8.30pm of Suffragette, ahead of its 12 October release date. Starring Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter, Brendan Gleeson and Meryl Streep, Suffragette is an intense drama that tracks the story of the foot soldiers of the early feminist movement as they fought for the right to vote.

Everyman Canary Wharf is situated in the sleek Crossrail Place development, featuring three screens complete with luxurious sofa seating and a stylish statement bar. Each auditoria offers an incomparable cinematic experience with a choice of homemade pizzas, sweet and savoury snacks and delectable cocktails delivered straight to your seat.
