Our tips to save at Emirates

Emirates Skywards and Skywards+ member benefits
Skywards is the loyalty programme that Emirates shares with Flydubai and is designed to offer its members benefits and experiences that work with their lifestyle, and make holidays even more rewarding.
Join for free to begin collecting miles and other benefits, depending on the tier level. Here’s a breakdown:
- Blue (upon registration) – Instant upgrades (when available), wifi messaging in economy, and priority waitlists.
- Silver (25,000 tier miles) – all of the blue benefits, plus 30 per cent bonus miles, 12kg additional baggage and priority check-in.
- Gold (50,000 tier miles) – all of the silver benefits, plus 75 per cent bonus miles, free seat selection, extra baggage and selected worldwide business-class lounge access.
- Platinum (150,000 tier miles, plus one qualifying business- or first-class flight) – all of the gold benefits, plus 100 per cent bonus miles, access to the Emirates first-class lounge in Dubai and more
To enhance your benefits even further, join Skywards+, which gives subscribers the choice of three levels – classic, advanced and premium – all with their own advantages, to give you personalised deals.
Even with the lowest tier of membership, classic, you'll get a one-time 20 per cent discount on a classic reward flight, which could save you hundreds on that dream holiday to historic Oman or trendy Brisbane. The savings alone will pay for the annual subscription, and that’s without the other benefits – including bonus miles, airport lounge access, and extra luggage.
Families can also combine their miles in a My Family account, allowing up to eight members to contribute to a shared balance. Younger travellers can join Skysurfers – a dedicated loyalty programme for children aged 2–17.
Emirates student discount
Students aged between 16 and 31 can get in on the fun. Use the student code provided above for up to 10 per cent off economy and 5 per cent off business-class fares to more than 250 destinations worldwide. You’ll also get 10kg more baggage, or one extra piece, on top of the usual allowances, and flexible options to change your flight.
Please note, you must bring your valid student ID or school acceptance letter when you check in for your flight. Otherwise, you will no longer qualify for the promotion and will be required to pay what the fare costs on the day of departure.
Special offers
Check out the Emirates special offers page for limited-time promotions on flights and to maximise your Skywards benefits. Previous deals have included bonus miles, upgrade offers and up to 50 per cent off when you pay with Skyward miles.
Emirates best fare finder
The “best fare finder” tool helps you get the lowest fares to more than 135 destinations worldwide. You can easily compare prices by month and view which days are cheapest to travel.
It’s faster than using other third-party flight comparison sites, plus Emirates offers a best price guarantee, which means they’ll refund the difference if you find the same flight for £10 or more cheaper elsewhere.
Book in advance and save
When it comes to travel, typically, the earlier you book, the better the deal you’ll find. In fact, our travel team recently explored this and found that “booking short-haul flights five months in advance can save you just under 50 per cent across flight and accommodation costs, whereas six months is recommended for long-haul with further price reductions rising to 55 per cent”.
You can often find lower fares and access early bird holiday offers, particularly for long-haul destinations. MyBenefits cardholders booking a flight and hotel together through Emirates Holidays can also save 5 per cent on packages.

Why choose Emirates?
“I’ve been following the Emirates story since the very first flight almost 40 years ago. The growth of the Dubai-based airline has been astonishing. Emirates now serves more than 150 destinations on six continents and has the world’s biggest fleet of Airbus A380 ‘SuperJumbo’ aircraft. Many travellers appreciate the extra space they offer, as well as the unrivalled in-flight entertainment.
“Emirates also excels at connecting Britain with the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Australia, with 18 daily flights from six UK airports taking thousands of people each day to Dubai and beyond,” says travel correspondent Simon Calder.
