Formula One: 1000 races in numbers

Re-live the latest action from the Spanish Grand Prix where Lewis Hamilton completed a dominant lights-to-flag victory to retake the lead in the drivers' championship.

Hamilton got away much better than Mercedes teammate and pole-sitter Valtteri Bottas, who went into Turn One alongside Hamilton and the Ferrari of Sebastian Vettel. With Vettel pushed wide, Max Verstappen was able to slide through and take third, with the Red Bull driver remaining rather unchallenged for the rest of the Grand Prix.

A late safety car bunched the field up after Lando Norris and Lance Stroll crashed at Turn Two, taking both drivers out of the race as the only retirements of the Grand Prix. However, Hamilton powered away at the restart and claimed the extra point for fastest lap on his way to victory. Re-live the live updates below.

What time does it start?

The Spanish Grand Prix starts at 2:10pm BST on Sunday 12 May.

Where can I watch it?

The race will be shown live on Sky Sports F1 from 12.30pm. Highlights will be shown on Channel 4 at 7pm.

Bottas brings the field round on the warm-up lap withoug any dramas and lines up in position No 1 for the third race in a row. Will he make it back-to-back victories after winning last time out in Baku? Here we go...

LIGHTS OUT! THE SPANISH GRAND PRIX IS UNDERWAY!

Lap 1: Hamilton leads! Not for the first time this season he gets the better start and beats Bottas into turn one. That forces the Finn wide and he in turn pushes Vettel out wide, who's on the outside of the Mercedes pair and locks up to cause a flat spot on his front right tyre. He just saves it from going off and compromises Leclerc as he comes back on, but the Red Bull of Verstappe is already through and up to third!

Lap 2: So that makes this quite a fair bit clearer. The race for the win will be between Hamilton and Bottas, who are already separated by two seconds with the leader out of DRS range. However, Bottas sets the fastest lap the second time around and this by no means is a done race. Vettel, running in fourth, now finds himself in a battle for third with Verstappen, with teammates Leclerc and Gasly locked in behind them.

Having started from the pit lane, Hulkenberg is making swift progress as he's already up to 17th ahead of Kubica, Russell and Raikkonen.

Lap 3: Replays of the start show how close Vettel, Hamilton and Bottas came to touching, and then again Vettel and Leclerc, and it also shows how Verstappen expertly picked off the two Ferraris around the outside of Turn Three with a fully committed move. That was quite something from the Red Bull star.

Lap 5:

1 Hamilton

2. Bottas +2.0

3 Verstappen +3.5

4. Vettel +5.5

5. Leclerc +6.7

6. Gasly +8.7

7 Grosjean +11.7

8. Magnussen +14.1

9. Kvyat +15.8

10. Albon +17.4

Lap 6: Interestingly, Vettel is being dropped by Verstappe, who is not a million miles off the lead two. Wha on earth is happening to Ferrari this season, because whatever they're doing, it's not working.
