Styrian Grand Prix LIVE: Latest F1 updates and reaction as Lewis Hamilton wins first race of the seasosn
Re-live the latest updates from the Red Bull Ring where defneding champion Hamilton cruised to victory ahead of teammate Valtteri Bottas and Max Verstappen
Follow the latest updates live from the Styrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring as Lewis Hamilton starts from pole position in a bid to win his first race of the 2020 F1 season.
The reigning world champion produced an incredible lap in qualifying to take pole position by a mammoth 1.2s, but he’s joined on the front row by Max Verstappen in a Red Bull that has a lot of making up to do after last weekend’s double-retirement for the home team. The top order is shaken up somewhat though by the rain-sodden qualifying session, meaning Carlos Sainz starts in third in the McLaren with world championship leader Valtteri Bottas only able to qualify in fourth.
There have been a fair few grid penalties applied, with Lando Norris dropping from sixth to ninth and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc seeing an already-disappointing 11th worsen to 14th after he was found to have blocked Daniil Kvyat in qualifying, with Antonio Giovinazzi also dropping to thee back of the grid after a gearbox change on his Alfa Romeo. Lights out is scheduled for 2:10pm, and you can follow lap-by-lap updates live below.

Lap 51: Stroll is next up on Ricciardo, and the pace has completely left the Renault which is leaving him horribly exposed out there.
Lap 52: Perez is flying and put in the fastest lap of the race, cutting the gap to Albon to under four seconds. Ricciardo keeps Stroll at bay for another lap at least, but it could be a case of delaying the inevitable.
Lap 51: Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto
"I don't think there is much to say to the drivers. I think it's the worse solution to a difficult weekend for us. But we have to be united and rely on the backbone of the right people to progress."
Lap 54: Bottas's pace has completely left him, and he's not 7.7s off the Red Bull just as he gets informed there is slight damage to his rear deflector. Maybe we won't get that battle for second. "At this pace we will catch him on the last lap", comes the message.
Lap 55: Perez has the gap to Albon down to just 1.6s and the battle for fourth is well and truly on. Giovinazzi meanwhile gets a black and white warning flag for ignoring track limits.
Lap 56: Albon is getting held up in lapped traffic, with Russel, Gasly and Latifi right in front as Perez closes in behind.
Lap 58: Russell allows Albon past into Turn 1, but Perez can't follow suit and loses a few tenths behind the Williams before getting past. It gives Albon a slight breather there, but the Racing Point is coming nonetheless.
Lap 60 standings

8. Sainz +61.6s
9. Norris +62.2s
10. Kvyat +1 lap
Lap 61: The final stages are coming to life with Bottas cutting the gap to Verstappen to 3.5s and the two McLarens of Sainz and Norris battling for eighth.
