Too Human is very much a mixed bag. It combines action and role-play elements, and its characters are a cocktail of Norse gods and bionically enhanced humans.
While this mix-and-match approach to game design is creative, it's also flawed, not least in the title's seeming dislike of narrative and explanation. Going in blind, players soon discover that they are Baldur, a god with four missions to complete. Each mission involves exploring vast environments, beating up mechs and going head to head with an end-of-level boss. Ground-breaking it's not. The whole experience of playing is so patchy that Too Human is less than the sum of its parts.
