Nintendo has announced two brand new Pokemon games for the Switch – and much more to come.
The two new games are called Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! and mark a major step forward for the series, as well as a considerable expansion of Pokemon games on the Switch.
The games will include a whole host of new features that have never been seen before in a Pokemon game. They include the first time that people will be able to play on a big screen – using the Switch's convertible nature – and will allow for co-op play and mobile integration, too.

And they will have new takes on important parts of the series, too. Trainers will be able to use the JoyCon controllers to throw pokeballs, for instance.
Much of the will still be familiar. That includes the setting, which takes the game back to Kanto, where the original 151 Pokemon live.
In many ways, the game is based on Pokemon Yellow – the classic game that was first released 20 years ago. Just like that game, Pikachu is a central focus and will spend time interacting with players.
But it also takes some tips from Pokemon Go's incredible success. It borrows the same method for catching Pokemon and even allows players to transfer creatures they catch between the two games.
The two games will arrive on 16 November. Nintendo will also launch a special controller, modelled on a Pokeball, that can be used to play the game – and as a Tamagotchi-like device on its own when it's away from the Switch, too.
Nintendo also announced they will be releasing an RPG title called Pokémon Quest that is available straight away for the Switch. And it is preparing an all-new series to release in the second half of 2019.
