Aaron Hernandez: Former NFL star involved in prison fight
Former New England Patriot accused of fighting about a month after arriving in prison
Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was involved in a prison fight, an anonymous law enforcement official told CNN on Tuesday.
The 25-year old Hernandez was allegedly watching guard for another inmate while that inmate confronted another prisoner in his cell at Lancaster, Massachusetts’ Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center.
The incident is being reported as a gang-related fight. All three inmates were disciplined and Hernandez was placed under heightened security, according to the law enforcement source.
Hernandez was convicted of murder for fatally shooting Odin Lloyd in June 2013 and sentenced to life behind bars on 15 April.
Christopher Fallon, a spokesman at the Massachusetts Department of Correction, told CNN regulations forbid him from disclosing further information which would violate prison regulations.
Hernandez was also involved in another prison fight back in February 2014. He could learn the trial date for his additional double-murder charge later this week.
