There has been a breakdown in some of the A-levels subjects. Modern languages, for example, had a worrying decline as fewer pupils take French and German, however Spanish students are slightly up.

On the other hand, Economics A-Level sees surge in popularity after financial crisis. Watch a video of chief executive AQA, Andrew Hall, on the grades fall and new subject choices:
