Cameron Diaz says quarantining with new baby has been 'heaven'

Cameron Diaz has opened up about the joys of being a new mother, calling her and husband Benji Madden’s daughter Raddix the "best thing that ever happened”.

On Wednesday, the actress appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she revealed that she has been enjoying every moment with the couple’s six-month-old daughter, even in quarantine.

“Heaven, it’s been heaven, Jimmy,” the 47-year-old said of the last few months. “Literally every single day, there's just leaps and bounds ... and she's not the same baby that she was yesterday.

“Where was yesterday? Yesterday is literally gone, and today is a new day, and tomorrow will be a new day that she's a completely different baby.”

According to the actress, being able to “see that growth and to be a part of it” is “so gratifying”.

"It's just amazing. It's the best thing that ever happened to both Benj and I,” Diaz added. “We’re just so happy.”

The Holiday star also discussed how the couple has been keeping their daughter entertained, telling Fallon: “We have Baby Shark on rotation, we have Elmo's Song. We have Sesame Street. It's crazy. We're like jamming out over there, and she loves it.”

The couple first announced the birth of their daughter on 3 January, writing on Instagram: “Happy New Year from the Maddens! We are so happy, blessed and grateful to begin this new decade by announcing the birth of our daughter, Raddix Madden. She has instantly captured our hearts and completed our family.”

At the time, Diaz said she and Madden wouldn’t be sharing photos or any more details about their daughter to protect her privacy.

“While we are overjoyed to share this news, we also feel a strong instinct to protect our little one’s privacy,” the couple said.
