Holi festival, Brindavan, India

Holi, the Hindu festival of colour, takes places in early March after the full moon and usually lasts several days. It is a typically exuberant celebration: men, women and children take to the streets and throw coloured powders and water at each other, and dress temples and homes with vivid hangings.
