Dyson Cyclone v10: the most powerful cordless vacuum to date

With 40 per cent more bin capacity, it comes complete with a handy wall mount, and a hygienic waste disposal mechanism. It seems now's the time for an upgrade

Dyson has long been a byword for innovation, but the launch of the stylish new Dyson Cyclone v10 Absolute marks an exciting turning point for the hi-tech British company. This stylish, cord-free stick vacuum, available now from John Lewis, not only has all the power of an upright, but it boasts the most powerful suction of any cord-free stick model. It's 20 per cent stronger than its predecessor and removes a quarter more dust.

With three impressive power modes it is engineered to deep clean anywhere within the home – fast. The powerful, direct-drive cleaner head is designed to remove ground-in dirt from carpets, while the matching woven nylon and anti-static carbon fibre head is gentle on hard wood floors.

It's made possible by the next generation of Dyson's digital motor, the V10. Spinning 2,000 times a second, it's Dyson’s fastest digital motor ever. Don't worry, ramping up the speed doesn't mean more noise or more weight. Quite the opposite: the model is acoustically engineered to divert direct sound and improve airflow, so reducing noise. The seven-cell lithium-ion batteries are surprisingly light and provide the vacuum with up to 60 minutes of impressive fade-free suction.

The Dyson Cyclone v10 goes where you go. The comfortable design means you can wave goodbye to a messy cord trailing behind you and avoid that stomach-sinking tug when a wire doesn't reach far enough. Move swiftly from room to room and without the annoyance of plugging and unplugging. With one click the Dyson Cyclone v10 transforms into a handheld, perfect for conveniently tackling staircases, the sofa or even to give your car seats the once over.

This innovative design extends to the waste compartment. The Dyson Cyclone v10 has 40 per cent more bin capacity than its predecessors. Its hygienic “point and shoot” mechanism means it ejects dust and debris deep into your bin so there's no need for you to touch the dirt.

Dyson has thought about clever storage too. No more having to force cupboard doors shut or wasting valuable floor space, you simply drop the Dyson Cyclone v10 into a wall-mounted dock to recharge and store. There's even a tote-like tool bag in which to store the four miniature click-in attachments – for soft dusting, ground-in dirt, tackling tight crevices and multi-surfaces. Just grab them and go.

The Dyson Cyclone v10 Absolute, available for £449.99 at John Lewis, is a boon for those with busy lives. If you're looking for a versatile, powerful and innovative vacuum that modern living demands, look no further.
