Model and actress Chloe Sevigny has swapped her underwear for a strategically placed lobster in a daring cover of Marfa Journal’s Issue 3.

This is probably one of the most unusual editorials we’ve seen this year where crustaceans appear to have taken the place of clothes.

The 40-year-old Swedish actress has been heralded as the It-girl of the early nineties with many main roles in indie films such as Kids, American Psycho and Boys Don’t Cry, which even earned her an Oscar nomination.

Marfa Journal, is a new edgy bi-annual European publication focused on the combination of art and fashion.

Sevigny, who controversially called Jennifer Lawrence "annoying" and "crass" last week, was shot by New York-based photographer Brianna Capozzi for the third issue of the magazine in a series of images that appear to be edited into parodies of film posters. Capozzi doesn’t do glamour and as she told Dazed Digital, she makes “images that ride the line between theatrics and banality”.

And if you thought that the lobster clams were a bit too much, then don’t read any further because there’s more than the sea creature. The editorial also includes a photo of a semi-naked Sevigny in nun attire this time with her crotch wrapped in chains and a lock – not one for the fainthearted.

The biannual publication is clearly leaning towards an edgier audience, but whatever the intention it’s hard to argue that the results of this shoot aren’t slightly scary.
