We can't wait for… All eyes on Alber

French beauty giant Lancôme has recruited Alber Elbaz for its new collection. The eyes have it in this instance – the collection focuses on mascaras, eyeshadows and false lashes, while Elbaz's trademark quirky aesthetic is plainly evident in the range, which is adorned with stars, hearts and polka dots. Mascara £23, from 1 July, lancome.co.uk

We love… Limited leathers

To celebrate the opening of its first store in Asia, swanky stationer Smythson has created a limited-edition clutch bag. The envelope style is inspired by a travel letter-case from 1908 owned by founder Frank Smythson. There are only 18 and each comes engraved with its individual number. £795, smythson.com

We're not sure about… The Clothes Show comeback

Essential Sunday night viewing for generations of fashion fans, the return of the Beeb's one-time style stalwart The Clothes Show was cause for The Audit's adulation. Until we heard that it has been relegated from TV to that there Internet. How annoyingly new-fangled.

We're buying... Spelling tees

Call us old-fashioned, but in a world of online over-sharing, a bit of intrigue can be a very good thing. So new label Etre Cecile – and the group of anonymous industry experts behind its premium basics – makes for a very compelling purchase indeed. £75, my-wardrobe.com

We're visiting… Every second counts

The hairpin bends of Formula One aren't the only thing making us dizzy, as Swiss watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen has taken inspiration from its partnership with the sport for a new collection, showcased in the Wonder Room of London's Selfridges from today. If bling isn't your thing, there's an F1 simulator show car too. Until 7 July, selfridges.com
