Spring Knitwear: As Bold As Brass
This is no time to be a shrinking violet – knitwear for spring should be bright, patterned or printed
Spring Knitwear: As Bold As Brass
Show all 5Spring is in the air, but so is a decided chill – this is the run up to the Great British summer after all.
And, while knitwear may initially strike you as wintry weather wear, the practicalities of a fine-gauge knit on a nippy day should not be overlooked. However, with the change of the season does come a certain sense of frivolity which, in reality at least, usually only appears via novelty sweaters during Christmas festivities.
There's nothing quite so merry here – although a touch of humour never hurt anyone. Instead, bright colours lead the charge, tempered by geometric and abstract patterns. Prints are a big trend for men this season, and this short-sleeved Topman knit is an affordable way to unleash your wild side. Raf Simons' bolt of blue nods its head to the Argyle patterns commonly seen at the 19th hole, but with the Belgian designer's signature minimalist touch. If you fancy something a bit safer, stick with stripes by all means, but update them with a flash of colour.
