Milan Fashion Week: Silvia Venturini Fendi sheds tears as she takes bow for Autumn/Winter show on behalf of Karl Lagerfeld

Celebrities from the fashion world and beyond turned out in their droves at Milan Fashion Week to pay their respects to the late Karl Lagerfeld at the Fendi fashion show.

Lagerfeld first started working with the Italian fashion label in 1965.

Stars including entrepreneur Olivia Palermo and model Olivia Culpo attended the Fendi autumn/winter 2019 catwalk, while models Gigi Hadid and Kaia Gerber took part in the show.

All guests attending the show were provided with mementos on their seats, which included a note marking the date of Lagerfeld's death and copies of the German fashion designer's last sketches for Fendi.

In 2016, Lagerfeld spoke to Harper's Bazaar about the significance of working with Fendi for more than five decades.

"It's the longest collaboration in fashion," he said.

"No one has lived long enough to do it for such a long time, and I'm not tired of it at all."
