Kimye's baby daughter North West makes modelling debut decked out in Chanel in CR Fashion Book
The photo is accompanied by a Karl Lagerfeld quote that reads: "It's never too early to care about fashion"
The baby daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, North West, has made her solo modelling debut at 13 months.
The baby stars in a feature of unconventional style icons in the new issue of CR fashion book, the bi-annual magazine founded by former Vogue Paris editor Carine Roitfeld. She appears decked out in Chanel wearing a cashmere cardigan, a camellia broche, a mini version of the brand’s iconic 2.55 quilted handbag and pearl earrings.
The editorial photograph hails the toddler as “the future” and is accompanied by a quote from Chanel’s creative director Karl Lagerfeld that reads:“It’s never too early to care about fashion.”
Baby North has appeared already in US Vogue with her famous parents earlier this year, but this is her first solo shot.
Lately, North has been snapped wearing an impressive wardrobe of designer outfits including Givenchy, mini Lanvin gowns and teeny tiny version of Celine skate shoes. So a Chanel outfit is not out of the norm for this high fashion baby.
Roitfeld previously featured North’s mum Kim Kardashian on the cover of her magazine’s third issue and compared her to iconic star Marilyn Monroe.
North West’s inclusion in this shoot and in the Vogue editorial earlier this year, certainly seems ironic following statements made by Kanye West at Wireless Festival in London last month.
He went on a 20-minute rant during his performance about his family and their privacy. He said: “I want my daughter to have that opportunity to decide whether she wants to be famous or not. I think to myself, what the f*** am I going to do, how can I change it and how can I give my daughter her childhood?” In addition, he’s reportedly forbidden E! cameras from filming their baby on Kim’s reality TV show Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
