Dries van Noten to preside over Hyères festival
Succeeding his compatriot Kris van Assche (Dior Homme), Belgian designer Dries van Noten has been announced as the president of the prestigious Fashion and Photography Festival in Hyères, which takes place this spring in the sourth of France.
The festival, which has brought designers such as Sandra Backlund and Henrik Vibskov to greater public attention, will celebrate a quarter of a century in existence this year.
Round-table conferences and exhibitions make up the program of the event, and ten designers as well as ten photographers will compete against each other for a cash prize as well as the professional recognition from the jury including the likes of van Noten or Vogue fashion editors including Sarah Mower and Sally Singer.
The International Fashion and Photography Festival at Hyères takes place April 30 to May 3. The shortlist of candidates has not yet been announced.
