Fifty Shades of fashion: Dakota Johnson lands her first Vogue cover
The star of the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey film stars on the cover of February Vogue
Dakota Johnson has landed her first cover of Vogue, she features on the cover of the American edition's February issue.
Johnson, is the star of the upcoming film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey which is released later next month.
This is the first major magazine cover for the 25 year old actress.
Rather than go down the predictably raunchy route, Johnson is depicted in a series of designer outfits in a relatively safe manner.
The shoot was photographed by iconic fashion photographer Mario Testino.
Johnson, the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson was relatively unknown before she was cast in the lead role of the upcoming movie directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson.
In the cover image Johnson wears a dress by Balenciaga. In another image from the shoot Johnson is pictured in a retro living room wearing a Derek Lam sweater with Bottega Veneta black shorts.
Johnson made her first high profile awards season debut at the Golden Globes earlier this month, she opted to wear a silver sequin dress by Chanel showing impressive red carpet style for a relatively inexperienced actress.
The February issue hits newstands on January 21st vogue.com
