Glastonbury is the latest festival to implement a ban on the sale of Native American headdresses.
A petition calling for a ban on the sale of headdresses at next year's Glastonbury festival was started on website change.org.
It was announced today that the petition has been successful and headdresses will not be available for sale on site at the festival next year.
The petition argues that the wearing of headdresses by non-Natives "is an offensive and disrespectful form of cultural appropriation, that it homogenises diverse indigenous peoples, and that it perpetuates damaging, archaic and racist stereotypes."
A trend for the headdresses has seen them worn by increasing numbers of festival goers in recent years, as well as seen on various celebrities including Pharrell who wore one on the cover of Elle magazine.
