Model Gigi Hadid stars in new Calvin Harris music video

The insta-famous model has a starring role in the DJ's new music video

It's been a good week for Gigi Hadid who has not only landed a major magazine cover but also scored a starring role in Calvin Harris' new music video.

Hadid, was this week unveiled as the cover star of next month's prestigious September issue of W Magazine in an editorial shot by Steven Meisel.

Now she's branching out and trying her hand at acting in the video for the world-famous DJ.

Hadid plays the role of a mysterious woman who has just woken up, the video goes on to follow the woman as she explores a strange new world setting including a nightclub, boat and beach setting - with a whole lot of hair flicking thrown in for good measure.

It's undoubtedly been a great year for the 20 year old model who has added numerous magazine cover and ad campaigns to her already extensive CV.

She shared her excitement at her newest cover earlier this week to her 5.1 million Instagram followers tweeting:
