First chance to taste American’s 2010 award-winning wines

On February 20, the 2010 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition Award-Winning Wines will be available for the first public tasting since awarded on January 8.

This year's San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, began in 1983 as the Cloverdale Citrus Fair Wine Competition renamed in 2000, brought together 63 professional wine experts (media, hospitality, winemaking and retail wine industries) to judge a "world-record breaking 4,913 entries, a number that maintains the competition's status as the largest competition of American wines in the world" touted the event's site, WineJudging.com.

The tasting takes place between 2-5pm PST at the Festival Pavilion at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco and will highlight the gold and double gold (unanimously judged gold) medal winners selected from over 1,200 American wineries and more varietals than any other tasting event in the United States. The event's gourmet food section is hosted by Savor California, a regional fine foods site, and participants can expect to find lovely bites produced with local ingredients by chefs from the California Culinary Academy.
