One Direction member Louis Tomlinson has inexplicably been crafted in cake form to celebrate Yorkshire Day.

The boyband star from Doncaster has been baked into a giant Doncaster Rovers-wearing sponge for the 39th annual festival, which is celebrated on 1 August to promote the historic county.

And in these images, first published by Doncaster Free Press, he can be enjoying a tea party with fellow random cake sculptures of Judi Dench and Jarvis Cocker, who are from York and Sheffield respectively.

The three figures are seen tucking into tasty slices of cake. Slightly strange, that being the very same substance they are themselves made out of.

Southerners hoping to catch a glimpse of the models, which were commissioned by Yorkshire Tea and crafted by cake artist Connie Viney, fear not. They will go on display at Kings Cross Station in London.
