A company believes it has created the 'world's safest drone'.

Fleye is described as 'your personal flying robot', which is spherical in shape with no extruding propellors.

The weight and size of a standard football, its innovative design marks a step forward in drone safety.

It can also be left to its own devices, with the capability of being set autonomous missions from a mobile app.

Laurent Eschenauer, CEO of Fleye, believes techonology like his will be everywhere in years to come.

"I am convinced in the future we will have flying robots around us helping us in our daily lives."

After raising funds through a Kickstarter campaign, pre-orders are expected to be available later in the year.
