Despite earning rave reviews across the board Bethesda’s Dishonoured has had to settle for second place, with the FIFA juggernaut showing no signs of abating. Though, that said, it did beat Sleeping Dogs to the title of fastest selling original IP released this year.

Honourable mention must also go to Nintendo’s Pokeman Black/White Version 2 as well, the two games taking third and fifth spots (though the UKIE has confirmed that even if both were treated as a single release, Dishonored would still have ranked second).

The brilliant XCOM: Enemy Unknown also makes its presence felt in 7th, while Microsoft’s Fable: The Journey only manages to debut at 37th, despite being the game which was to push Kinect into the mass market.

Predictions for next week: Dance Central 3.
