Microsoft will give all buyers of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition — the remastered version of the first game — will come with all of the games in the series.

The Ultimate Edition was thought just to be a remake of the first game. But in buying it, players will get access to all the rest of the Gears of War titles: Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3 and Gears of War: Judgment.

All of the games will be backwards compatible, so that players can get them on the Xbox One, despite originally having only been released for the 360.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition has been “painstakingly reimagined from the ground up with stunning next-gen graphics, recaptured and rebuilt cinematics, new achievements and modernized gameplay for an even better experience”, according to Microsoft. As well as the new games, it will come with new maps and missions, and access to the beta version of Gears of War 4.

The Ultimate Edition will be released on August 21.
