Kanye West is working on a video game based around helping his late mother get to the “highest gates of heaven”.

The game is a tie-in with West’s song ‘Only One’, in which he assumes the character of his mother, he said in a morning radio interview.

“I'm working on a video game for 'Only One,' and the idea is it's my mother going through the gates of heaven,” he said. “And you gotta bring her to the highest gates of heaven by holding her to the light.”

West has been working on the game for six months, he said.

West’s mother, Donda, passed away in 2007, and Kanye has been public in grieving for her.

He released ‘Only One’ on December 31, 2014, and put a video for it on YouTube at the end of January. The song features Paul McCartney and is sung from the perspective of his mother, who comments on his daughter North and his relationship with Kim Kardashian.
